Hoping Elementary School is located next to 18K of the Central Transnational Highway, bordering Guguan and Lishan Scenic Areas to the east, Dongshi District to the west, Dajia River to the south, and "Taoshan" to the north and adjacent to the Heping District Administrative Center. It is a remote primary school belonging to the Atayal ethnic group and is also the central primary school in Heping District. There are currently 36 students, and the school district covers the two major tribes, Heping and Nanshi.
Although it is located in a remote mountainous area, there are many long-term special courses that have been promoted, such as 25 years of Atayal singing and dancing, 24 years of pottery, 10 years of calligraphy, and 6 years of traditional archery. With the efforts of successive principals and teachers, the courses can be continued and Developed into skills that students can learn and internalize over time. Among them, the Atayal song and dance is based on the traditional culture of the local indigenous Atayal people, with the traditional Atayal myth as the main axis, and is presented with traditional songs and dance movements.
The music and singing are completely performed and sung by the children themselves, and the original sounds of nature are reproduced. , the dance movements show the power of warriors in hunting and the beauty of women in farming and weaving, and wonderfully interpret the tradition and charm of the Atayal people.
This group of children who love singing and dancing improves their self-confidence during competitions or performances and deepens their identification with aboriginal culture. In recent years, he has participated in various competitions and achieved great results, and has been constantly invited to perform in various units. The dance team is a team that allows students to express themselves, and it is also a stage for inheriting and promoting the indigenous Atayal culture.
