In 2008, Chang joined the “Cirque du Soleil” with a momentum of blending Eastern and Western kinetic vocabularies. The Dralion with Oriental aesthetics has since been presented with the Cirque for 2,162 performances around the world. He played the role “Fire Yao” among the four vital roles of Earth, Water, Fire and Wind.
In 2009, the Tenth Anniversary of Dralion was acclaimed by the chief Artistic Officer Sylvie Galarneau as “The best Yao they’ve been looking for, in the past 10 years.”
In 2012, Chang returned to Taiwan. Being aware of the man-made damage to the natural environment, he established “Natural Kind Inspiration Garden” with the premise of being “kind” to the nature for co-existence and took art as the initiative of getting the general public to approach the Hall of Arts.
The Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Society respectfully acknowledges that 2022 Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival takes place on the traditional, unceded lands of the Coast Salish people, including the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-waututh Nations.
