Taiwanese Canadian Ensemble is a multi-instrumental ensemble looking to introduce and share lovely Taiwanese folk tunes in Canada. The group comprises Taiwanese and Canadian violinist, violist and cellist who have performed all over British Columbia and beyond. It is their mission to touch the audiences in Canada with programs which contain their favourite old but gold music selections.

Vancouver Pops is a vibrant group of musicians and singers who share a love for Disney, Broadway, and Hollywood tunes. Their mission is to create a fun and challenging environment for music-making and deliver performances that inspire and entertain both the performers and the audience. The artistic director and conductor, Tom Kuo, is a Taiwanese-Canadian violinist, violist, music instructor, and conductor from Vancouver. Graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Music in 2008, he founded the Vancouver Pops in 2010, driven by a passionate interest in teaching, performing, and conducting. Tom continues to seek out unique and engaging music and venues for musicians, young and old, to perform and experience.

Established in 1997, the JUNO-nominated Orchid Ensemble is acclaimed as “one of the most adventurous groups uniting Eastern and Western musical traditions” (Georgia Straight). The trio is made up of internationally renowned musicians Lan Tung (Taiwan/Canada) on the erhu/Chinese violin & vocals, Dailin Hsieh (Taiwan/Canada) on the zheng/Chinese zither, and Jonathan Bernard (Canada) on percussion, including the marimba. The ensemble regularly commissions and premieres new compositions. It has embraced a variety of styles in its repertoire, ranging from Taiwanese and Chinese music, World Music, New Music to Creative Improvisation. Its highly regarded interdisciplinary productions fuse music, dance (contemporary, aerial, flamenco, Chinese…etc), visual arts, and media arts.

A moving force in the world of flamenco and Spanish dance for more than 40 years, Moziaco Flamenco has brought countless devotees to the art of flamenco. Mozaico Flamenco had its beginnings in Los Angeles when Oscar Nieto founded his first school and company in 1972. Over the years it has evolved into Vancouver’s renowned Al Mozaico Flamenco Dance Academy, established in 2002 by Oscar Nieto and Kasandra “La China.” The name “Mozaico” honors the mosaic of students from different backgrounds, ages, abilities and circumstances that are drawn to flamenco and are welcomed into the Mozaico community.

Rancho Folclórico Cruz de Cristo is a Portuguese folk dance group based in Vancouver, founded in 1979. The group is dedicated to celebrating and preserving its cultural heritage through traditional music and dance. Their mission is to share the energy, culture, and spirit of Portugal with communities across the Lower Mainland.
The troupe brings together dancers and musicians ranging in age from 6 to 30. They regularly perform at cultural events, festivals, church gatherings, and seniors’ homes, and have participated in major community events such as the European Festival at Swangard Stadium, the Hyack Parade in New Westminster, the Teddy Bear Picnic Grande Parade in Coquitlam, and the Hats Off Parade in Burnaby—earning multiple awards for their performances. In addition, they host cultural booths to promote public awareness and appreciation of Portugal’s rich traditions and heritage.

The Taiwanese Canadians Cello Quartet is comprised of four exceptional musicians: Luke Kim, Judy Lou, Eva Ying, and Bryan Lin. Through the unique and resonant timbre of a cello quartet, they showcase the delicate and deeply moving charm of chamber music.
Driven by superb technique and seamless chemistry, the four members weave a richly layered musical landscape with their instruments, delivering performances that blend classical elegance with powerful artistic tension. At this year's Taiwan-Canada Arts Festival, the Taiwanese Canadians Cello Quartet will present a brilliant repertoire that fuses classical music with traditional Taiwanese folk elements. Through these warm, familiar melodies, they aim to share the cultural spirit and profound beauty of Taiwan.

Founded in 1990 by a group of music-loving Taiwanese Canadians, the Vancouver Formosan Singers takes its name from “Ilha Formosa” (Beautiful Island), the name Portuguese sailors gave Taiwan in 1544, captivated by its beauty. The choir blends cultural heritage with innovation, embracing new musical elements while honoring Taiwanese traditions.
They hold annual concerts and often collaborate with other groups, including international performers. In 2017, the choir proudly won 2nd place in the President’s Cup Mixed Voice Chorus Competition in Taiwan — a testament to their musical excellence and cultural dedication.
The Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Society respectfully acknowledges that the Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival takes place on the traditional, unceded lands of the Coast Salish people, including the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-waututh Nations.
